FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

Winter

Can a normal car reach Hamta 270° in winter?

When there is snow on the road, only a 4x4 makes it. SUV taxis bring guests up from Manali and we can arrange one for you. Without snow a normal car can reach, but the last 7 km to Sethan is a winding mountain road, so an SUV or MUV is far more comfortable.

Will the suite be warm when it snows?

Yes. Walls are insulated with glass wool, windows are double vacuum-insulated glass, and the all-weather air conditioners heat the room even at minus 15 outside.

Is there hot water at minus temperatures?

Yes. Heat pumps with backups keep hot water running through the coldest nights.

Does the jacuzzi stay hot in winter?

Each fill stays hot for about 30 to 40 minutes, depending on how cold it is and whether it is snowing. Refill and stay longer.

Is Hamta 270° open in winter?

Yes, all year. Winter brings snow-covered Himalayan views, and the suites are built to stay warm through January.

Your stay

What is included in my stay?

Daily breakfast and housekeeping, Wi-Fi, a kitchenette with a microwave and tea and coffee setup, all-weather air conditioning, high-thread-count linens, thermostatic showers with Jaquar fixtures, a balcony or sit-out, and the lounge and games room.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in from 2 PM, check-out by 11 AM. Early check-in and late check-out depend on availability, so message us in advance.

Do all suites have a jacuzzi?

All except the Jack Mountain View Suite. The Ace Cliff Duplex Cottage Suite, King Summit Suite and Queen Alpine Suite each have an outdoor jacuzzi.

Is the jacuzzi indoors or outdoors?

Outdoors: open-air on the cliff edge, under open sky, facing the valley. Bring swimwear.

Can other guests see my jacuzzi?

Jacuzzis face out to the valley, not walkways or common areas. Along the cliff you may catch sight of a neighbouring one, so ask at booking and we will place you with as much distance as we can.

Is there mobile network and Wi-Fi?

Yes, though weather can affect it at this altitude. Internet runs on Airtel and Jio and is not guaranteed, so download what you need before you arrive.

Do you serve alcohol?

We do not serve alcohol. You are welcome to bring your own and we will help make the evening comfortable.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, well-behaved pets are welcome. Tell us when you book.

Is the property suitable for children?

Children are welcome. The property is on a mountain slope with stairs, so please keep a close eye on little ones.

Is there parking?

A small parking area on the property, plus road-side parking for extra vehicles. Share your vehicle details in advance.

Is the property wheelchair accessible?

Not at this time: the property is built on a slope with stairs between levels. Message us before booking and we will advise.

Do you have rooms for drivers or house help?

Drivers stay at nearby dormitories or budget hotels we can arrange, at the guest's cost. For a female attendant an extra bed can go in the suite; for a male attendant an extra bed in the suite or a nearby room. Charges apply.

What is the music policy?

Keep music at a level that does not disturb others. No loud music after 10 PM.
